MARCH FIRST!

stretchvp.substack.com

Hey there friends-

It’s March 1st!

If you’ve been following along for the past few years, you’ve no doubt seen and heard me reference March Forth. If you’re new here, check out the very first newsletter published March 4th, 2020. (I talked about this again the following year too!)

Today I’m gonna reminisce and celebrate a bit. Today marks the 156th consecutive weekly stretch vp newsletter.

That’s 3 straight years of EVERY single week compiling posts, articles, and podcasts I’ve found helpful, then drumming up some thoughts, and pressing “send”.

I didn’t start this for a following or recognition. In fact, I still don’t have a good answer when asked “Why do you do this?”.

For me - it’s just as much about staying sharp, collecting insights, and learning, as it is about giving back and sharing.

It’s now also about the streak. Despite some rough weeks of work, family vacations, sickness, and even a crazy pandemic - I’m most proud of the consistency (albeit even if the content may fall short). Discipline > Motivation.

So this week I thought it appropriate to take a look at what that journey has been like, as well as a few things coming up.

In this week’s edition of Stretch Weekly -

  • Snapshot of STRETCH VP Weekly

  • Official logo/branding (see above)

  • Subscriber Chat (see below and look for this one on Friday - March FORTH!!)

THANKS for reading!!

-Grant

And lastly - as always, if you find this newsletter valuable- subscribe or share it with someone who might as well 👊.

Snapshot of STRETCH VP Weekly:

3 years and 156 weekly emails later - here’s what the STRETCH VP audience looks like:

  • Most of you live in California, Utah, New York

  • STRETCH VP is read across 40 countries! More readers are from the UK and Canada than from Texas and New Jersey.

  • Slow and steady growth. I’m not breaking any records here, but 668 subscribers in 3 years for a newsletter focused on SaaS Sales Leadership is more impressive than my Twitter following. 😄

New Logo/Branding

Since it is March 4th - I felt like I had to execute on something that has been in the works for a while. Drumroll….Presenting the newly official STRETCH VP logo/branding.

This is definitely not going to win any awards or design competitions. But I had fun with a Canva account and some time off. I’ve already started using this on a few things and it’s nice to finally have something like this. And…after all - Why not?

Announcing Subscriber Chat

Join STRETCH VP’s subscriber chat
Available exclusively in the Substack app

Today I’m also announcing a brand new addition for my subscriber base: the STRETCH VP subscriber chat.

This is a new feature from Substack I’m going to try out. It’s a conversation space in the Substack app I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, questions, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.

I think it’s a great way for leaders to discuss challenges, obstacles, and solutions we all are facing.

To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.

…

How to get started

  1. Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.

Get app

  1. Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.

  1. That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.

🧠 Mindset

March 4th! Faced with the choice of giving up on our goals or marching forward - this date serves as a reminder to execute instead of retreat.

Thanks for reading!

My hope is if you find this valuable, consider sharing it with friends (or signing up if you haven’t already).

— Grant 👋
