Upcoming: stretch vp weekly
stretch vp presents a weekly collection of the best discussions, articles and podcasts for sales leaders in SaaS.

Background
My name is Grant and I’m a Stretch VP.
After taking the reins heading sales for a Utah-based SaaS startup (holla #siliconslopes), I quickly realized that while I had previously owned my own business and managed a team before, a SaaS sales leader had a whole new set of obstacles and learnings to take on. Especially at the startup stage. While confident in my abilities - I had a thirst to learn from the experts.
So… I consumed every podcast, blog post, tweet and piece of content from successful industry leaders that have paved the way already.
I then started compiling and sharing these weekly insights, articles, tweets, posts and other content for my team and colleagues in the same situation. I’d share these over mostly one-off emails and text messages, slack etc.
Pivot 1 - Blog and Twitter
A year or so into my role I hypothesized there were other Stretch VPs like me or aspiring SaaS leaders that would appreciate a collection of content focused on a VP of Sales in SaaS. I hacked together a website and blog and called it “Stretch VP - Confessions, learnings and insights from sales leaders in SaaS” and tried to post regularly. I created a new twitter account (follow me @stretch_vp) and was off and running.
Pivot 2 - Newsletter
While I had the best of intentions with the blog and did enjoy creating original content, life (and work) got in the way. Drafts and drafts of blog posts were created and went unpublished. However, I still found myself compiling articles, tweets and blog posts from the experts and sharing them as one-offs with my circle.
Sometime back - I started to realize that I loved receiving valuable content directly in my inbox. Then, the spark ignited when I found Substack (Thanks to Khe Hy with Rad Reads ) and can’t wait to have you join me each week.
Disclosure
By no means do I have everything figured out. In fact, one of my recent blog posts was about the short shelf life of a VP of Sales in SaaS. But to me - learning from others who HAVE been successful is what this newsletter is about. Together we are stronger (cliche? Yeah - but so what).
What to expect each week
I want to keep the newsletter simple, organized and useful. I’m going to try and follow the following format:
3 Articles or Podcasts I’ve found interesting this week
2-3 Quotes or Tweets that sparked thoughts or discussion
1 Original or Featured Post
