Introverts Can Sell
I've heard varying degrees of this philosophy before and completely buy in. I think most people automatically assume if you’re in sales, you’re an extrovert. But if you peel it back - a good majority of us are more introverted than we are extroverted. And that’s okay - its great actually.
Jeb Blount (in fact, calls himself an introvert) and Mathew Pollard (Author of The Introverts Edge) give us an interesting and insightful 6-part series breaking down myths and stereotypes, while teaching us that introverts can sell.
So… queue up these six episodes and learn a ton about yourself as well as how sales is a learnable skill - not just a profession for those blessed with the "gift of gab".
Jeb and Mathew tell us that everyone can learn frameworks, skills and systems to excel, no matter what personality traits we possess.
Salespeople: Have You Planted Your Garden?

Back in the 1930s, in the wake of the stock market crash that led to the Great Depression, there was a social phenomenon in the United States known as the “Hoover Garden,” sometimes called a “Depression Garden.”
Most sales professionals today have never heard of it, for the simple reason that most people today haven’t heard of it. Yet this kind of garden is an important, and understudied, part of history. It illustrates a principle that every sales team in the year 2020 should be familiar with.
That’s the teaser. Great article from Sandler Training comparing and contrasting what sales reps should be doing now to take control of their own pipeline and grow our own opportunities from scratch.
